Grabbed From Behind!

your standing there minding your own business then out of nowhere somebody comes up behind you and bearhugs you. Luckily they didn't get your arms. You've done this before in class so you know how to handle this. You, strike and pin their hands, step back to isolate their leg and S@1T they step back as well. Now what do you do?

This week we are going to look at a few possible follow up techniques incase the above happens.

Here are just some of the options:

  • Scissor throw
  • Elbow to the head and full wrist lock
  • Elbow to head and reverse hammer lock or kimura
  • Elbow to the head and outer winding throw

Remember if you don't practice this types of follow-ups or chaining techniques together don't expect to be able to do it when it counts on the street, because you will not! No matter what type of martial art you do, chaining of techniques like this will help you understand your art so much more completely.
