Back Roll Sweep!

Today lets look at a nice escape/sweep from guard to a leg takedown to an ankle lock submission.
The is primarily a sport grappling technique but could have a self-defence application under the right situations.

You have your opponent in your closed guard, he stands to break open your guard and start a pass.
You quickly move to a far guard, then execute a back roll to come to the side of your opponent. This sets you up nice for a leg takedown and ankle lock.

This technique is one of those techniques that often will confuse your opponent. They assume you're going for a kneebar but in fact your rolling by them to land at their side.

Get it a shot next time somebody stands up in your guard.
